This Friday was Earth Day! We want to make sure we keep our earth clean and healthy, so we made some promises to take care of the planet we live on.

Wow, it has been so long since I have posted any of our work on here! Today we build moving cars out of toilet paper rolls, straw, skewers, and paper cups. And here is a picture of our bulletin board with some of our artwork right now.
Wow, another exciting week! Here are some pictures from Dance-A-Thon: Here are some of our animal projects: Finally, here are our little bean and pea plants we brought home. When they grow nice and tall, feel free to plant them in a real pot! I know I told some girls in our class that a video of their routine/performance would be posted on here, but unfortunately my phone didn't save the video properly :( I'm so sorry girls!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Family Day holiday, we look forward to being ready to learn again on Feb 22nd! What an exciting week! We planted bean and pea seeds, and we started building our Animal Habitat Dioramas (and made quite the mess of the classroom while doing it...but we cleaned it all up!), found out the groundhog didn't see its shadow (you can ask your child what that means for us), and we celebrated 100th Day! Today, as I was watering our seeds to last over the weekend, I noticed some of them growing! On Monday we will write about it in our observation books. Right now these are just the roots of the plants, so once the sprouts start growing leaves, we will plant them in real soil and bring them home to continue taking care of them! On a side note, this unit about Plants made me want to try growing my own plants in my kitchen at home...here is a picture of some chia seeds that are starting to sprout! You can easily plant and sprout veggies in your kitchen such as potatoes, celery, and lettuce. Click [here] to see some more ideas for a home garden.
This week we mapped our classroom for Social Studies, and next week we will be learning more about our community (and maybe even mapping our neighborhood) Here are a few photos from what we're doing in math, art, and Genius Hour!
