Just a reminder, we have no school next week (Feb 15-19). We hope you have a wonderful and fun-filled Family Day week! Last week seemed to pass by so quickly, especially with the fun field trip to see Dance Revolution! Unfortunately I was sick that day, but the class had so many great things to share with me about it.
This week we are hoping to start a few different things: growing some tiny plants, creating a habitat diorama for our animals, and learning more about our community. We also have a busy month coming up with Groundhog Day, 100th Day, Chinese New Year, and Valentines! Monday (Feb 1)

Happy New Year, and welcome back to school! Hopefully we have all recovered from the food comas and are ready to get our minds back into learning. I am very excited to be back at Park Meadows for the rest of the year, and I hope it will be a great time with the class! I will be teaching Science, Social Studies, Health, Computer time, and a little bit of Math on Monday to Wednesday during the week. Though the schedule will not change, there may be a few changes in how the classes will be run, and our Show and Share will be re-vamped. I am very grateful that I had the chance to get to know each child a bit already, and the staff and administration have been so welcoming and supportive. I have many New Year Resolutions, but my biggest one will be to "spread my wings" as a teacher, as a great mentor recently encouraged me to do. This comes with a lot of stepping out of my comfort zone, into the zone of taking risks, taking chances, and embracing the present moment! I truly hope our entire class will be excited to start the new year with a new mindset, renewed attitude, and a "new" teacher. I hope that this will be a smooth transition, and that we can get into a routine that helps each child feel safe and able to reach their potential in our classroom. I will be sending letters home and touching base with each family as soon as possible. I look forward to getting to know you all better! |
